TDOHM: Rainbow Spirte

Here's the normal version of my cute monsters entry. I made a second entry because I wanted this one to look more like the conventional definition of cute

This is a Rainbow Sprite... they can restore and bring color to many different kinds of forest life. They're part of Hatsu's [link] universe.

Same with my first entry, I was originally going to use the pen tool to draw the character, but I only had two days to finish both entries and it can sometime take 2 to even 5 days to complete and that's not even including coloring.

So I decided draw the character by hand, color the design in black ink then scanned it on to my laptop. All I had to do was select black or white to change whatever section to any color or gradient I wanted. This worked better than thought

Also, have to say that I'm really digging how "paintery" this looks. I tried REALLY hard to get all of colors and reflections right and I'm super pleased with how this came out!

On a side note, I was listening to The Nostaliga Critic review the "Carebears 2" movie and now I can get the phrase, "Taste the Holy Rainbow of Awesomeness, Motherfuckers!" out of my head... I might alter this later to say that and send it to him
